You can enter this interesting old Victorian-style house, built in 1920, through either the front door or the back door. The old house’s wood floors are creaky, the walls are pale yellow, hung with curious exhibits of local art, an incongruous collection of fifties-style red and orange vinyl chairs complements random chrome-legged tables, a few potted plants are disbursed here and there is usually a variety of popular music playing quietly in the background - to perfect Caffé Luna’s air of friendly casualness.

Caffé Luna always offers rich Sumatra, as its coffee of the day and Adria Brown is always standing by to serve up a variety of espresso-style coffees, plus a smile and a pleasant word - to get your day started on a cheerful note.

Open 7 days a week - from 6am til 10pm on Monday through Saturday and from 6:30 am til 6 pm on Sundays, Caffé Luna, located at the corner of 8th and Coffman is Longmont’s unique coffee house and café.

The establishment attracts an interesting variety of local people from surrounding old town neighborhoods and beyond. Its varied clientele includes business people, teachers, housewives, students, city council members, seniors, blue collar and office workers. Almost anyone is likely to appear at Caffé Luna, to enjoy its small town, sociable atmosphere.

Opened by businessman and antique/art trader, Mark Michels in 1995, Caffé Luna – now in its 8th year of operation - offers coffee and espresso-style drinks, along with breakfast specialties in the morning, a variety of sandwiches at lunch, plus music several nights a week. Mark said what makes Caffé Luna special is its customers. “It has become a popular meeting place where people from local neighborhoods get together and make contacts… it provides a nice community atmosphere.”

Breakfast and lunch are served all day long and a variety of pastries, sandwiches and quiche are available. Caffé Luna’s house breakfast specialty, called Luna Eggs - is a unique egg dish made by steaming eggs using an espresso machine wand to create very fluffy scrambled eggs with no butter. Caffé Luna’s selection of pastries includes croissants and Danish from area bakeries, plus a variety of tasty cookies, muffins, biscotti, brownies and cakes baked on the premises. If you arrive early enough on Wednesday or Sunday mornings, you can enjoy hot blueberry or cinnamon ripple muffins – fresh out of the oven!

Caffé Luna brews coffee from Coffee Jones, a Boulder roasting company owned by one of its own former espresso coffee makers. In addition to the Sumatra house blend, the establishment also serves La Semeuse, a smooth after-hours Swiss coffee. A five-bean blend of Sumatra, Brazilian, Costa Rican and Columbian is used for espresso. The house’s most popular coffee drinks are Mocha – made from espresso, chocolate and steamed milk and vanilla lattes, a house specialty. Flavored coffees are also popular.

Entertainment is available from 7:30p.m. til 9:30pm every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night, featuring the music of local musicians, and some traveling musicians. The music is mostly country and original folk music, plus Celtic and occasional jazz. There’s an open mike on Wednesday nights and scheduled musicians appear on Friday and Saturday nights.
